I graduated from Bates College in 2009 with a degree in political science and started my teaching career over eight years ago when I joined The Princeton Review. While working for that company, I helped literally hundreds of students prepare for the SAT through group instruction and one-on-one tutoring. I went on to become a full-time, independent tutor who specializes in helping students with the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, and writing of college essays.
The students who I have tutored independently have consistently seen amazing results, illustrated by the fact that over 90% of them have been accepted to their first-choice college or private secondary school. As part of my guidance, I have shown many of them how to write personal statements that greatly enhance their college applications. They are often struck by how easy they find the process as I help them create natural, engaging narratives that highlight their most important goals, character traits, and personal experiences.
Outside of teaching, I am working on a novel and have taken creative writing classes through The Writers Studio and The Sackett Street Writers' Workshop. In my free time, I love to read about current events, play soccer, and ride my bike throughout New York City.

"Jonathan worked patiently with my daughter through her SAT test-prep in order to help her achieve her desired scores. She was applying to Ivy and NESCAC colleges.
